Goodbye Dry January! Now it’s time to show love to your local.

Dry January is over. The Cheshire Cheese on Little Essex Street in London is fully stocked and ready for people to come in and enjoy comedy, quizzes, karaoke, the six nations championship, and beer/wine tasting. As well as offering one of the cosiest nooks in town for a swift half after work or a cheeky glass of wine.

This hidden gem traditional pub - which reopened under new management at the end of December - has held on to its Dickensian internal decor and features. But also offers a modern twist with an array of drinks on offer, ranging from sought after beers, speciality wines, whiskey through to flavoured gins.

So, here's a flavour of things to love at The Cheshire Cheese this February:

  • Saturday 4 February: Showing Six Nations Championship - England vs Scotland (4:45pm) with drinks offers

  • Tuesday 14 February: Valenwine's Day

  • Wednesday 15 February: Comedy Night

  • Friday 24 February: Karaoke Night

  • Saturday 25 February: Showing Six Nations Championship - Wales vs England (4:45pm) with drinks offers

Multi award-winning chef, Robbie Lorraine also took permanent residency at The Cheshire Cheese in December. His restaurant, Only Food and Courses, offers an 80s and 90s inspired supper club serving a six-course menu.

Jason Bird, The Cheshire Cheese owner, said: “In January, we all tend to hibernate after a busy festive time but now February is here and we want to invite people into the pub to have fun, spend time with their friends as well as have the opportunity to meet new people.”

“We have teamed up with experts in the drinks and entertainment world to bring some much-needed joy to the long winter.”

Booking is not required for the rugby matches but as there is limited availability on the events reservations will be required. People can visit the website for more details.

Those living and working locally are also being encouraged to sign up for a loyalty card which gives money-off and exclusive drinks offers.
